My latest Kaiser Health News piece about Lebron James—I mean about Republican criticisms of the new high-risk health insurance pools. I have been concerned about this issue for a long time.
Given the venue (KHN, not ESPN) and some final edits, the piece reads a little more naively bipartisan than I had intended. I don’t believe that Senator Enzi and his Republican colleagues are very sincere when they lambaste the Affordable Care Act for defects that were actually worse in Republicans’ own proposed health care plans. The Obama administration would nonetheless be smart to take Enzi and his colleagues at their word in seeking greater resources for an important under-funded program.
