  1. There should have been, and every journalist who moderated or commented on the debates without bringing the subject up bears the shame of that failure. However, I doubt that the candidates' responses to questions about climate change would have done anything for Clinton's side of the ledger, particularly among the 70K voters that made the difference. People who imagine that the presence of snow in winter disproves climate change-and who think that someone like Sen. Imhofe, who considers a snowball an unanswerable argument is just the sort of person they want representing their interests in Washington-would just have moved further into the Trump column.

    1. Regardless, it was a massive and disgraceful failure of American journalism.

      Inexcusable.
