I second this, Mark.
Mark didn’t call the guy a liberal. He called the guy a “cultural liberal.” Means he tolerates interracial marriage but not necessarily the income tax.
I’d ask what the meaning of ‘cultural liberal’ means.
Parts of the island are quite high, and you could evacuate prisoners from one jail on the island to another (there are a number of semi-separate jails contained within an outer layer of security) if worst came to worst. The idea that all of Rikers would be flooded in anything short of the Day After Tomorrow just doesn’t seem right, so I get the impression that a lot of this criticism is coming from people who just don’t like Bloomberg and are looking for something to criticize in the Irene response.
