Some polite letters to the Chancellor of the City University of New York could do no harm.
If you agree with me that denying academic honors based on kangaroo-court procedures is a bad idea, and you’d like to write a polite letter to the relevant official, that person seems to be Matthew Goldstein, Chancellor of the City University of New York. His email address is: chancellor@cuny.edu.
Of course, the one bully and four cowards who constituted the minority of the Trustees that blocked the award to Kushner have put the Chancellor in a difficult situation, as he reports to the Trustees. Your note, should you send one, should take that into account. But surely it would do no harm for him to know that the outside world, as well as his own faculty, is watching his actions now.
