  1. When I first saw here at th University of Chicago Folk Festival she must have been only 24! She seemed older, not because of her appearance, but because she seemed so thoroughly grounded in the music, as if she had been singing it for generations. There was such a lovely, intimate quality to her singing it made even a large auditorium seem small
