Let’s keep the campaign going! Sign up at TheAction.org.
I was planning a long post on the need to keep the Obama electoral organization in being to pressure Congress, continue voter registration, try to make the 2014 electorate look like 2012 rather than 2010, and punish the lawmakers and officials (e.g., the Ohio Secretary of State) who engaged in vote suppression this year.
Apparently it’s going to happen. In the wrap-up mass conference call with Obama volunteers, the campaign urged them to sign up at TheAction.org. Not sure how much of the above agenda it’s going to pursue, but the first focus will be the fiscal-cliff negotiations. I urge you to give of your time and your money to help make this happen. The capacity to mobilize masses of voters outside the election cycle would mark an epoch in American history, and might help repair the damage done by the growing power of dark money.

Teaches about the methods of policy analysis about drug abuse control and crime control policy, working out the implications of two principles: that swift and certain sanctions don't have to be severe to be effective, and that well-designed threats usually don't have to be carried out.

Yes, let the permanent campaign continue (not that it ever stopped).
Can you list the effective political organizations, starting with the Gracchi, that stopped work the day after an election?
Has the Tea Party disbanded?
Jonathan, I believe it is known as “citizen participation,” a.k.a. government by the people.
Yep…
And it sure beats what the other side is doing. Last I heard there were 47 petitions on the White House to secede.
I am glad the right-wing Bigot-osphere isn’t taking Nate Silver’s advice (and no I won’t paste it in for them to see) but the left-wing seems to be…
Lastly, the President’s brother-in-law hints at “citizen participation” with this quote:
A general needs troops…
So a hat-tip to all who have signed to stay on.

I’ll just leave this right here.
Very much in keeping with the title of the post.
“If the size of your bundle
You want to decrease..”
Apparently Adelson and others very much wanted to decrease the size of their bundles, and there were - big surprise - plenty of people happy to help them.
i always wondered why howard dean’s 50 state project was left to wither after the 2008 election. better luck this time.

Because Rahm Emanuel absolutely hates any reminder that he was a disastrous failure. So naturally he shuts down any successful effort that highlights his incompetence.
Cranky
Oh, man, I was mulling over a very similar post, though I was teaching and missed that final call to the volunteers.
It’s a great idea.
I’m probably missing something but I’m not convinced it’s a great idea-it feels like a “company union.” What are the policy positions or the mechanisms for defining them?
