Do you know what Mitt Romney’s tax plan is?

No? Well, neither does he.

You don’t?
Well, don’t feel bad. Neither does he.

So no fair criticizing the Romney plan. It doesn’t even exist.

Footnote  In any case, not knowing beats knowing what ain’t so.

  1. Hey Reagan didn’t have a clue either and it worked out pretty well for him. The guy perportedly didn’t even know what was going on in the basement of the White House. Never missed an afternoon nap though.
The myth of Reagan being a steely eyed tough guy is such a touch stone for Republicans they never miss a chance to pull it out. They always forget to mention the “Iran-” part of Iran-Contra. You know the illegal arms sold to Iran for some unspecified mysterious (Hey you guys hang on to those hostages till after the election and we’ll take care of your airplane parts problem*) reason. Now that’s tough.
And it never hurts to trash Jimmy Carter, him and his sweaters and solar panels and fuel efficiency. Good thing Reagan shut down his energy program. Gosh think where we’d be if we had kept that up.

*Yeah I know, that’s just another *Conspiracy Theory*. Nobody ever prooved the Reagan canaign made a deal with Iran. They just sold those arm to ’em ’cause…’cause…well fer some frickin’ reason.

  2. The latest Rove Memo:

Our candidate will not talk any specifics about his religion or [UPDATED] his tax/economic plan.
All voters need to know is this: Rmoney is a deeply Christian man and his tax plan is based on principles that will grow the economy.
    Full stop. Repeat as necessary.

    1. For years I have been saying that politics is like an IQ test-if a politician says dumb things, we ought to think maybe he isn’t smart.

It’s wrong, though. Politicians are smart after all. They have learned the most important lesson-tell the voters what they want to hear, whether it makes sense or not. Tell it to them over and over again, and most of them will come to believe it.

So it’s true that politics is an IQ test. It’s us who are dumb.

  3. I’m sure that, once he’s secured the nomination, the Koch bros will fill him in on the devil-infested details of his plan.
