A Democratic pro gives advice on the November elections:
- No bed-wetting. This will be a tough election for our party and for many Republican incumbents as well. Instead of fearing what may happen, let’s prove that we have more than just the brains to govern — that we have the guts to govern. Let’s fight like hell, not because we want to preserve our status, but because we sincerely believe too many everyday Americans will continue to lose if Republicans and special interests win.
What is encouraging is that this is not coming from Zasloff, Sullivan, Drum, Klein, Yglesias, Chait or any other fine citizen of Blue Blogistan, but Obama’s campaign wizard David Plouffe.
Now if it were President Obama or Senator Reid in that beer commercial…

James, Obama - and we - have a problem; Obama's a great campaigner, but he'd better man up for governing. Right now, he's acquiring a bad two-year record for Dems to run on.
If he wants peole to stop bed-wetting, then perhaps he'd better provide some leadership. At this point it's beyond honest doubt that several Dem senators are actually working for the GOP. If he can whip them into line, then he's got a chance. If not, then his campaign managers tough talk is just a way of blaming others for his failures.
I think it was someone who once said, "leaders lead". Not that there's anything wrong with hiring tough-talking consultants, but it's not quite the same thing.
Nuts. Let them get out and lead, and lead for things we elected them for. So far all Obama has done is fold.

Oh James, you're citing tough campaign talk from a campaign manager for a president who's proven to be better at campaigning than governing. Do you see a word which occurs three times in the previous sentence.
Wow, a campaign manager using tough language for upcoming elections that most know will turn out badly for Dems? The heck you say?
I'm sure that's what Rick Santorum's campaign manager said in 2006, "Talk tough, the voters will be intimidated into voting for you and not some pansy."
