The ACA and Addiction Treatment: Necessary but not Sufficient

The Affordable Care Act has done a remarkable job of expanding the number of Americans who have insurance to cover treatment of substance use disorder. But as our research team reports in the current issue of Health Affairs, many states and treatment programs have yet to build the infrastructure needed to take best advantage of the ACA and thereby expand access to care.
