   If I might suggest a more recent if less elevated candidate for quote of the day, here is Neal Boortz complaining about the coverage of the Asiana crash on the Fox News Channel:

   “So here’s the problem…. People who hear absurdities solemnly presented in the coverage of a major aviation story are very likely to lose confidence in the political side of Fox reporting as well.”

   Tolkien at his most nearly feminist. Tho a good man does come along to save her. It’s striking at least that he put her in the book.
