Barack Hussein Obama

This video  is the most elegant iteration I’ve seen of the dialogue on the left about the President.  What’s so amazing about “Barack Hussein Obama,” written and directed by Jamil Khoury, is that both sides are treated with respect.  And what a shame that should be amazing!

Khoury is Artistic Director of the Chicago theater company Silk Road Rising, and this piece is a component of the company’s ambitious work-in-progress “Mosque Alert.”

The video is 13 minutes long.  Please make time to watch it.

    After this Ayesha line:

“Does Barack call out his accusers (Those who accuse him of being Muslim)? No. He just ducks. He dodges them.”

…my mind immediately went to POTUS practically making Donald Trump his bitch (excuse the prison talk) at the White House Correspondence dinner. Did everyone forget that?

Allow me to recap: Birtherism, which is really about anti-Muslim xenophobia, is in full swing. Donald Trump is now at the helm instead of various Clintonistas. POTUS brings the whole fiasco to a boil by releasing his long-form on April 27, 2011. The left is whining about him being weak.

A few days later, POTUS is starring down the “Carnival Barker” at the aforementioned dinner. Here he releases his “Birth Video” (the Lion King, I think) and warns FoxNews that it’s a joke. Then he leans into the humorless Trump, who is left sputtering something about inappropriateness. Seth Myers follows up with an unrelenting mocking.

But a few days later the real shoe drops. It turns out all this was happening as Obama was in the process of 86ing OBL. Birtherism becomes collateral damage. What a fitting ending to the cult.

There are several other poisons in that stew in addition to anti-Muslim xenophobia. Other than that, I agree with you.

really enjoyed. Of course if Canadians got to vote in the 2008 election…. Cdn Public opinion poll had Obama leading McCain 75-15 with 10 % undecided. So it may come as no surprise that I think he is greatly “misunderestimated”. Obama gives such sophisticated speeches yet the media seems to ignore. I was tremendously impressed by what I thought was a brilliantly crafted speech to the 71st General Assembly of the Union for Reform Judaism. Yet it has been ignored.
