Counselor magazine profiles my career this month. The interview is behind a login wall but you can get it directly (pdf) here.
The interview is one of the loftily titled “pioneer” series, but the real pioneer is the interviewer, William (Bill) White (see video of him here). Bill is a leading advocate for the addiction recovery movement in the U.S. and the U.K. and is also a first-rank scholar, having written an astoundingly thorough and engaging history of addiction treatment. (Slaying the Dragon). When the Fix.com assembled its list of the people who are revolutionizing the addiction and recovery field, they quite appropriately ranked Bill way above me.
Many of Bill’s voluminous writings are now available for free on line here, and are being downloaded regularly by recovering people, health care professionals and addiction scholars all over the world. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this guy is the second coming of Bill W.
You bury the lede. You got some nice props there, too.
