EJ Dionne is too nice of a guy. At the end of his excellent column about the grotesque danger of crazed right-wingers bringing loaded guns to events with the first Black president, he asks,
Will some group of responsible conservatives, preferably life members of the NRA, have the decency to urge their followers to leave their guns at home when they go out to protest the president? Is that too much to ask?
The answers here are quite simple: 1) no; and 2) yes.
But Dionne is too nice because he does not provide the obvious follow-up. So I will.
If something happens to the President because of one of these right-wing crazies, it will be your fault. Limbaugh. Hannity, O’Reilly. Murdoch. Savage. Kristol. You will be responsible. You will be the aiders and abetters of these crimes, not legally but morally, because you did nothing. And for aiding and abetting these crimes, you will rightfully be called traitors.
You have been warned.
