John McCain has decided to break the convention that candidates stop campaigning after casting their own votes, with trips to Colorado and New Mexico today.
I’ve always been puzzled by the usual practice, and have sometimes wondered how different history might have been had Al Gore hopped a flight to Tallahassee after voting in 2000. But it seemed especially out of character for Barack Obama to let himself be out-hustled on the last day of the marathon.
